About Us
Our first nursery originally opened at Samuel Whitbread Academy in 1989 as a ‘crèche’ for the children of school staff, but quickly established itself as a valuable community facility. In 2011 the decision was taken for the management of the nursery, originally named Samuel Whitbread Nursery, to transfer to Bedfordshire East Schools Trust (BEST) and it was considered appropriate for the name of the nursery to change accordingly.
Since January 2014 we have provided wrap around care at Langford Village Academy with breakfast and after school clubs. However, in April 2021 we realised our plans to open a Nursery provision on this site, which is now successfully up and running.
In 2016, we opened our nursery in Arlesey, Bedfordshire in collaboration with BEST to provide nursery care and education for children up to the age of 5 as well as wrap around care and holiday clubs for children that attend Gothic Mede Academy.
BEST Nurseries Ltd is a non-profit making organisation and any surpluses are re-invested in the early year’s education and care that we provide. The Directors and Trustees of BEST believe strongly that highly qualified and motivated staff, combined with a child-centred environment, will provide the best possible learning and care for children and the exceptional Ofsted reports and children’s levels of achievement are testament to this.
